Following the recent Government guidance on mass gatherings in relation to the Covid-19 pandemic, the ARCO Annual Conference is unlikely at this stage to go ahead as planned on 1 and 2 July. However, ARCO is currently working to review and plan alternate methods of delivering this important event to our sector and will be in touch with all those who have already bought tickets as soon as information is available. Thank you for your support at this time.
The Retirement Community sector is evolving rapidly
ARCO's 5th Annual Conference will focus on the key issues driving this evolution in the housing-with-care market, including:
The Changing Customer Proposition
How are operators changing their models to meet customers' needs? What do true customer-centric models look like? Who are the new entrants into the sector?
The Shifting Policy Context and Business Environment
Hear from Ministers and key stakeholders what the post-EU Exit political landscape might have in store for the sector. Why consumer protection is key to the expansion of the sector. What does the road to a Retirement Communities Act UK look like?
New Models of Tenure to Transform the Customer Relationship
Alternatives to leasehold as a key driver of change Playing catch-up with other countries: Is the UK missing a trick? How will operators, customers and funders react to new contractual models?
The full programme will be confirmed in due course.
What Next? 2020 will feature:
Thought-leadership through dedicated content and original research Operator insight and case studies High-level panel discussion In-depth workshops and audience participation at the Knowledge Exchange Day Unrivalled networking opportunities
"For innovative takes and meaningful content, the ARCO What Next? Conference is a must. You will always hear something new."

"It's the best annual forum for the UK Retirement Community sector - invaluable for existing and potential new operators."
The Knowledge Exchange Day will once again be hosted by Trowers & Hamlins at their offices in the City, offering excellent opportunities for networking, in-depth debate and focused break-out sessions and workshops.
ARCO would like to thank Trowers & Hamlins for their support in hosting the Knowledge Exchange Day.
The conference wouldn't be possible without the support of our generous sponsors. We're excited to be taking What Next? 2020 to the stunning IET London: Savoy Place situated on the Embankment with beautiful views of the London skyline.
The venue is home to the Institute of Engineering & Technology who have occupied the building since purchasing the lease from the Duchy of Lancaster back in 1909. Designed by architects, Stephen Salter and H Percy Adams originally as a joint Examination Hall for the Royal College of Physicians and the Royal College of Surgeons, the site has gone through various refurbishments, the most recent concluding in 2015 installing the latest cutting edge technology to ensure the very best event experiences.
Complete with temperature-controlled rooms (yes, we listened to your feedback!) and a fantastic lecture theatre with USB charging in the seats, we're sure you're going to love it as much as we do.
